I've been barbering for 15 years. In that time I have fixed numerous short haircuts attemped by beauticians. Why do people insist on doing things in their trade that they are not competent to do. If a female comes to my shop and asks me for a service, I don't tell them, "Sure, I can do that." As a matter of fact I would tell them I might be able to do it, but a beautician would probably do it better since I don't cut women's hair much. If you cannot cut a flattop or fade, don't try to steal a persons money. Send them somewhere that can do these things. I would rather cut someone well, than try to do something I couldn't.
I think that some people just worry about getting money instead of trying to help the customer even if that means suggesting someone else who can do what they are looking for right. People should stay with what they know and if they don't know, try to find a way to get better at it.
